Remember match fees have increased to £4.50 this season, and you may find it easier to pay monthly instead of every week, some people have already decided to pay £20 at the end of each month and then see how their credit ends up. Thank-you to everyone who has paid their insurance signing on fee, still need them fivers from a few others though please.


New Home Pitch Rules

Please read, understand, and stick to the following rules and guidelines concerning the facilities at both Courtside and Pitchside this season sent by Ben Moyle

 

NETS AND CORNER FLAGS

On arrival at the ground you will be allocated your changing room. Home teams will generally be changing in Courtside and away teams in the Pitchside Pavilion. Home teams will also be asked to sign out nets and corner flags from the caretaker’s office in the Pitchside Pavilion. On most Sundays nets and corner flags will not need to be brought in but please follow the advice of the caretaker. Clubs failing to return any items will be invoiced for the loss. Please use the clips provided for attaching nets to goals. Do not use tape. Please provide your own ground pegs.

COURTSIDE CHANGING ROOMS

Access to and from the Courtside changing rooms will be via the rear entrance through the green gate to the side of the building. Please take boots off outside. The Courtside changing rooms are large and on occasion teams may need to share. Lockers will be made available for valuables.

PITCH ALLOCATION

Weekly pitch allocation and changing room allocation will be posted in the Pitchside Pavilion. Please respect the allocation and use only the pitch and changing rooms allocated to your team. Where at all possible clubs will be accommodated on their ‘usual’ pitch. Unfortunately on some occasions this is impossible.

CONTACT

I’m available through the week on the numbers above but not at the weekends. Should there be a problem the caretaker will usually be in attendance.

POOR WEATHER

As in the past, the decision on the fitness of council pitches for play is made by the Contracts Department of ABC on a Friday. In the event of poor weather over the weekend a decision will be made by a local referee and clubs informed where at all possible. Please will all secretaries forward me a mobile number so text messaging can be used.

LITTER

Please remove all litter from the pitch surround at the end of the match regardless of who left it. In the event of excessive litter being left and a contractor having to be employed to clear up (as has happened in the past) the home team will be invoiced for this cost, regardless of which team left the litter.

TOILETS

We get frequent complaints from the public about public urination. Please make sure your teams return to the changing rooms rather than using the bushes! Seriously, teams not following this will have their pitch allocation cancelled.

Just a quick announcement to communicate a few club rule changes for the new season. Every player that has completed a signing-on form and that has been registered as an official Ashford Victoria FC player for the 2009-10 season must pay a compulsory £5.00 fee to cover their personal insurance. This small fee replaces the old signing-on fee that has been scrapped this summer and must be paid in full before the first game of the season on 6 September 2009. The club pays out both for public liability and personal player insurance every year, and it has been decided that the players will now cover this cost.

Also from the start of September, the player match fee for a full game will slightly increase to £4.50 per game, while the playing substitute fee remains at £2.00 per game. This fee has been increased to help cover the additional cost of the pitch hire at our new ground on Stanhope Road. Once you have seen the changing facilities and amenities at Courtside next month, I'm sure you will appreciate the rise, as it's about time we're able to get changed properly and have a place to keep our possessions safe and dry.

Please be aware of the following club rules below...

  • For all home games, all players must meet at the home ground on Stanhope Road an hour before kick-off (i.e. 9:30am). This is so we can lock up the changing rooms after everyone has got changed together, and then set up the pitch together by putting up the goal nets and flags etc...Also so we get plenty of time to do a proper warm up and team talk before the games.
  • For all away games, all players must meet at the away ground 45 minutes prior to kick off or before (i.e. 9:45am). For away games where the venue is new or far away, special meeting arrangements will be made at either the Crusader pub in South Ashford, or at Crooksfoot Tesco in Willesborough.
  • A Facebook event will be created for every game played this season and sent at least 72 hours before the game is scheduled to take place. All players involved in the game will be sent a notification which should be replied to at least 24 hours before the commencement of the fixture. Any players not responding in time, or for those unable to use Facebook or have internet access, will be sent a SMS text message on Saturday morning. The team will then be picked on Saturday evening going from the players that have stated their availability. Turning up unannounced for a game may result in exclusion from the starting XI.
  • All bottles, rubbish, support tape and sock ties must be disposed of in bin or taken away with you after every game, please leave the pitch and changing facilities as you found them.
  • Please refrain from swearing and using bad language in public areas (i.e. on the pitch, on the sidelines) at all times. Also players found or seen urinating on or surrounding the pitch will be disciplined. Please use the facilites provided at the ground.
