Squad 2009/10

Darren Banks

The veteran striker rejoined the Vics at the start of the 2009-10 season for his second spell with the club after his first was cruelly ended due to a broken leg in October 2006. The much travelled 34-year-old can include Ashford Dynamo, Charing Sunday, Prince Albert and Givaudan as some of his former clubs, and seems to have picked up from where he left off banging in five goals in six pre-season games this summer.

SAM BURGESS

Sam joined the club in December 2008 and made his debut the same month in the 2-1 league defeat to Troggs Reserves. The quick and versatile defender ironically previously played for Troggs a couple of seasons ago and has quickly established himself as a key member of the Victoria squad. Favours a role in the centre of defence, but is more than capable of playing at full-back, and will be looking to push for a regular starting place in his second season with the club.

Darryl's season was prematurely ended last term due to a knee injury but still picked up Captain's Player of the Year.

MARK RUTLAND

The no-nonsence defender joined the Vics from Hamstreet FC in August 2007 and quickly established himself as a first-team regular in his two previous seasons at the club playing mainly at centre-back and at left-back. The big, skillful defender so many times last season saved his side with his trademark interceptions and netted his first ever goal against Troggs in February 2009.

LUKE STAFFORD

The young midfielder signed in January 2009 and made his competitive debut as a second half substitute against Locomotive Inn later that month. Luke did previously feature and impress in the 8-2 pre-season friendly win over Wateringbury in August 2008 and we be a big asset to the team due to his versatility, and is more than comfortable playing anywhere across the midfield or at full-back.
